Energy Sources

The Earth is running out of our non-renewable energy sources and we need to start investing in renewable sources. My top two-energy source would have to be hydropower and solar power. Both are renewable and are in great abundance on this planet. Humans are using too many types of fossil fuels and are slowly but surely killing our planet. The switch may not be easy for all involved but will benefit us in the long run. I think that countries should encourage more people to switch to renewable energy sources because people don't want to change.

Did you know that the sun would produce enough energy on to the earth in one day to power the entire planet and its needs for an entire year. Also if we covered a small portion of the Sahara desert with solar cells we would meet all the world’s energy needs.

As long as the sun is still shining we will have an unstoppable source of energy.

Hydropower is also a great source of energy; some turbines can achieve efficiency of 95 % and more. Hydropower has some great benefits but also has a few slight problems. Since it relies on rivers and water currents it, may disturb ecosystems in the water, but apart fro that is a great source fro our planet.

Renewable sources are the way of the future and unless we switch to them soon we will have polluted to much to change.

Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution was a huge exploration in itself. People were exploring new ways of doing everything from farming to clothes making. People wanted everything to be mass-produced and faster, so they built machines that could do better jobs than any human could. People were no longer needed for many of the things they did so were forced to take any job they could. Lots of them would be put to work in factories fixing and maintaining the machines that lost them their jobs in the first place. A great machine that came out of the Industrial Revolution was the steam engine. The first types were steam pumps, the best invented by Thomas Newcomen, which were used to pump water out of mines, pump drinking water into towns and to blow air into furnaces. James Watts adaptation led to further developments including the steam powered generator, which was portable and could be used anywhere. The steam engine is mostly associated with the steam train but was also used in mining elevators and powering factory machines. The invention of these machine changed peoples lifes everywhere, things were faster, easier and more efficient. More things could be made in the same time, and they would be better quality.
